Waves of red washed into the school as students arrived for Lunar New Year celebration on 30th January 2014, decked in all their festive finery.
The AM emcees were Teacher Kirsch and Philip from Drake class, and the PM emcees were Teacher Huiwen and Sarah from Fraser class.
A diverse array of performances propped up the excitement throughout the day, including a specially choreographed Ribbon Dance by Teacher Nicole performed by a group of our very own Edenites. Their enthusiasm was clearly manifested in the sleek execution of their dance moves.
Jurongville Secondary School students provided an eclectic spectacle with their crowd pleasing energetic K-pop dance juxtaposed against the traditional strains of their amazing Chinese orchestra. Our neighbour Millennia Institute added a modern twist with their spellbinding contemporary dance. A touch of diversity was injected by the traditional Malay dancers from Princess Elizabeth Primary. Rounding up the performances was the much-anticipated Lion Dance. Gleeful and joyous faces peppered the hall as they took in the antics of the lion dancers.
There were yummy goodie bags to bring home as well! Ms Ho Ching, our Association patron, generously sponsored delicious treats from Snaffles for both the staff and students. The Snaffles gifts were specially flown in from Hokkaido, Japan. Complementing the delicious bites was the traditional gift of two oranges for everyone.
Kudos to the CNY Committee for putting together a truly memorable celebrations for everyone.
