Have you seen Eden School lighted up in a gorgeous blue hue at night recently? If you are wondering why this is so, wonder no more. Eden School, alongside other iconic Singapore buildings such as the ION Orchard, Singapore Flyer and St. Andrew's Cathedral, is lighted up in blue from 2-6 April in support of the autism cause.
This Light It Up Blue campaign is only one of the several programme initiatives lined up for World Autism Awareness Week (WAAW) 2014. Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, Autism Association Singapore, Autism Resource Centre, Rainbow Centre and St. Andrew's Autism Centre, have jointly organized a series of interesting and fun events and activities to generate greater awareness of individuals with autism in our society.
Eden School's participation in WAAW2014 is a significant milestone. For the first time in the school's history, Eden students will be putting up a performance item in such a nation-wide event. A selected group of students will be putting up an effervescent and uber-cool Tambourine Dance item on 4 Apr Fri evening 6pm at WAAW's Public Roadshow, held in ION Orchard. Head down to this event if you wish to catch our talented young Edenites in action!
Eden School students are also featured in a 1 April-22 June photographic exhibition "Autism: A Celebration of Diversity" held at National Library Board's Regional Libraries (Jurong, Tampines and Woodlands). Check out the roving exhibition and visually experience the special world of those amongst us who have special needs.
