Students from Eden School's Tambourine Dance Talent Development (TD) Group - led by their energetic and ever-patient Instructor Derrick Ho - dazzled the public at ION Orchard with their performance in the late afternoon of 4 Apr'14 Fri. This was part of World Autism Awareness Week 2014's "Light It Up Blue" Roadshow programme, organized by Duke-NUS Medical School in joint partnership with four Social Service Organisation including the Autism Association (Singapore).
Our lively motley crew street-danced to the upbeat numbers of "Treasure" by the singer-songwriter Bruno Mars and "Growl" by Korean-pop boy band EXO, complete with fist-pumps and tambourine-wielding movements. They were cheered on by their family members and supporting Eden School staff who were present.
This dance performance was made possible by the numerous practice sessions conducted by Derrick, the Tambourine Dance TD Group's teachers Jun Xiang, Rose and Nikki in the one and a half months preceding it. Derrick had specially choreographed the dance routine for this event. Last but not least, the students themselves made the performance possible by putting in all those hours of dance practice, diligently refining their moves with each practice session and doggedly perfecting them. We eagerly look forward to seeing their next public performance!
