Eden School was officially launched on 3 April 2009, during World Autism Week. It was a simple yet significant event which was graced by two very special guests - Senior Minister of State (Education and National Development) Ms Grace Fu who was the Guest of Honour, and Ms Ho Ching, advisor to both Eden and Pathlight School Boards.
The event was attended by officials from MOE, NCSS, MCYS, members of the school boards, principals of special education schools and other guests.
Ms Denise Phua, President of Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) and Supervisor to both Eden and Pathlight School Boards shared regarding the autism landscape and the significance of the collaboration between the Autism Association (Singapore) and Autism Resource Centre (Singapore).
Mrs Jenny Lai, Principal of Eden School shared on the specifics of the transformation journey of Eden School in the past year.
Mr and Mrs Norman Kee, parents with 2 children with autism attending Eden School, shared their heartwarming story of challenges, hopes and dreams of parenting 3 children with autism.
With the launch, Eden School (the former Singapore Autism School) together with Pathlight School will now deliver a spectrum of education offerings from mainstream education to vocational training to students with autism.
