2010 Visit By The Irish Ambassador To Eden School

Eden School had a very special visitor during Morning Assembly on 21 May 2010. Dr Richard O’Brien, Ambassador of Ireland to the Republic of Singapore came by Eden School to present a donation of $250k from The Singapore-Ireland Fund for the set up of the Eden School Bake Room at the new Bukit Batok premises.

Accompanied by Mr Donnacha Rahill and Mr Gerry Creamer from The Singapore-Ireland Fund Board, Dr O’Brien presented the cheque to Ms Denise Phua, Eden School Supervisor. In his speech to the students and staff, he applauded  the staff for creating a vibrant learning environment for the students. He shared on the history of The Singapore-Ireland Fund and endorsed the good work done by the school.

The generous donation was raised mainly from a charity gala dinner organized in November 2009.

After observing morning assembly and exercise routines and interacting with some students, Dr O’Brien was taken on a tour of the new school where he visited the newly set up Bake Room
