The students were entertained to a puppet show entitled ‘Runaway Dog’ during Morning Assembly. 40 students then took a leisurely stroll to Princess Elizabeth Primary School where they were given a VIP welcome by the P5 students and staff. This integration activity was initiated by the Singapore Sports Council under a programme entitled Children’s Day Festival. A special school will select a buddy mainstream school of its choice, and together both schools will plan integration activities for Children’s Day.
Prior to this, a talk was given to the student volunteers and staff involved in the programme so that they could interact more successfully with our students. It was indeed a very fun-filled event as our students were guided by their buddies through a series of activities such as captain’s ball, snake and ladder, dart, swatting the numbers, board and arcade games. They were treated to a McDonald’s meal during break; after which they joined the morning session for its Children’s Day celebrations at the school hall.
The students from Princess Elizabeth also specially designed and folded cranes for our students. Each of our students also received a very adorable PEPS bear.
Our host was indeed very hospitable and we thank the Principal and staff for a memorable experience. We look forward to more such collaborations in future.
