The spirits were high as Fullerton and Drake classes set off for the Esplanade on 29th August 2012. The students in Fullerton class were especially excited as they were finally going to see their artworks on display.
Earlier in Term 2, the students had spent 6 weeks working on a special project for the Esplanade Values Inspired Project on the theme, Grace. By exploring different painting methods, they had individualized their claddings inspired by Wau (Malay traditional kites).
Mr Paulo from the Esplanade received us warmly and brought us to the claddings display. The students beamed with pride as they admired their work! Then, he brought us on a guided tour around the Esplanade. We went to the Concert Hall and were amazed by the grandeur of the hall.
Next, we went to the Roof Terrace where we appreciated the magnificent view of the city. The students identified their claddings as miniatures of the roof structure of the Esplanade. They also spotted the Merlion, Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Sands among the landmarks of Singapore. It was there that we had a lovely picnic surrounded by lush greenery and the city landscape.
It was a memorable and insightful experience! Do pop by to support our Eden artists! (The artworks are on display near the main entrance)
