The first major event in the school calendar for 2013 kicked off with the second annual address by the Autism Association (Singapore) on 11th January. (Friday)
Prior to the address, staff members were treated to a buffet spread which was enjoyed by all before heading up for the address proper.
Updates were shared by the Eden Children’s Centre (by Eden CC-Simei Centre Head Ms Christy Wong), Eden Centre for Adults (by Mr. K Sarayanan, Deputy Head of Centre) and Eden School (by Mrs Jenny Lai, Principal)
For Eden School’s segment, Mrs Lai shared the school’s progress made last year and points covered include celebrating our first batch of graduating students, revision of our mission and vision, our bronze award for the 2012 Singapore Health Award, redefinition of the track structure into Junior and Senior Levels, and the successful introduction of Play@Recess. We also revisited the activities we had last year including our Semestral outings, parent communication & learning nights which involved sharing from parents for the first time, the Dads@School programme, and school day camp.
Our school supervisor Ms Denise Phua ended the evening quite literally on a high note, by getting everyone onto their feet to sing a song about growing and transforming lives.
