Eden School is one of the six beneficiary recipients from Singtel Touching Lives Funds, under the Community Chest Funds. A group of our students was hence invited to a free movie screening and cheque presentation ceremony at the SingTel Headquarters on 13 March 2013.
15 students and their class teachers and parents head out at noon from Eden School for the event. Lunch was served first in the form of MacDonald’s "Happy Meals". Besides having their favourite fast food for lunch, the students were also treated to popcorns and candy floss. The students were super excited when they spotted the push carts selling the snacks and queued enthusiastically and orderly, waiting for their turns. They also shared their thoughts and learning in School with the other guests over lunch and snacks.
After lunch, everyone got into the auditorium for the screening of the animated movie ‘Hotel Transylvania’. Our students sat through the one hour plus movie and were all fully engaged. Even the parents and teachers had a good time laughing along with the movie plot.
The cheque presentation ceremony followed shortly after the movie screening. Ms Jennie Chua, Chairman of Community Chest, was on stage to receive the cheque from the Singtel presenters. She received the donation on behalf of all 6 beneficiary Social Service Organisation as the audience clapped and cheered at this ‘touching lives’ moment. Eden School is glad to be part of this special event.
